The carbonated soft drinks industry started a slow decline back in 2005, causing major bottling companies, like Cott Corporation, to find alternative revenue sources. Cott’s successful acquisition of DS Services was the “first of many acquisitions that will see Cott’s customer base—and profit—grow.” This also signals the pursuit of better-for-you brands to offset the losses of slumping soft drink sales.
